Now that I found out knitting isn't as dreadful as I thought it once was.. I'm going to attempt to make a bag!

YAY!

This is the most adorable bag (at least I think so) and I originally found it on Ravelry.. and after many, many, many, many questions and lots of friendly advice from friends on both Craftster and Ravelry I'm going to brave it!

Here's a link to the bag that inspired me!
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/sactosara/98-54-bag-with-cable-pattern-in-eskimo

So far I've only completed the top portion and I've decided to leave out the 3 button closure.. because that's just weird and impractical to me.. because I am ALWAYS rummaging around inside my bags.

I learned to.. KNIT!

Many, many moons ago I tried to knit. It was a short-lived affair with lots of tears and much sadness.. I even asked the kind-hearted people of Craftster to help me.. AND try they did.. but to no avail.. *sigh*

But.. now a year later.. I have finally master the art of Knitting.. or at least mastered it to the point of making a scarf lol!

I originally started with a US size 13 and some super HUGE and amazingly fluffy green yarn from Lion Brand's new Hometown USA.. but it was getting really huge and THICK and a bit impractical to use as a scarf, unless I was Paul Bunyon.. so I bought new yarn... YAY!!

It's Vanna's Choice in a mixed blue colour. I'm making this baby for my boyfriend.. who has been extremely supportive of my obsession with trying to learn to knit..

The pattern I created.. is a bit ambitious, seeing as I JUST started knitting.. but I like to challenge myself..

CO 32,
K across 5 rows,
K3, 2x2 rib across, K3 on end, TURN
And repeat!
I plan to end with another 5 rows of garter..

To be honest.. I don't like the fact that the scarf is making a kind of bell shape. I didn't know it was going to get all funny looking and kinda shrink, or roll under.. **GRRRR**

My camera is dead at the moment, so I'll post pictures as after I complete it!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://madamq-coffeequeen.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-learned-to-knit.html' title='I learned to..
